Dealer message - Today, January 30, 2014, American Honda is announcing a warranty extension for all 2009-11 Civic Hybrid vehicles for IMA batteries that may prematurely deteriorate, decreasing the capacity of the battery. To increase customer confidence, American Honda is extending the warranty on the IMA battery to 10 years from the original date of purchase, or 150,000 miles. Note that vehicles registered in certain states may already be eligible for a 10/150,000 warranty period; this warranty extension does not increase the warranty coverage on those vehicles beyond the original term.
