i drove to san francisco from los angeles. no problem. on the way back the car overheated terribly and i left it at a mechanic gas station. they put in a new radiator. it still overheated. they put in a new water pump; then a new thermostat. then they called me and threw up their hands in disgust... couldn't fix it. i drove at night about 40 miles at a time and cooled down for an hour or so. then with the engine on, slowly added a mixture of water and coolant. it took over 24 hours to travel 400 miles. it's still overheating after a short trip to the market.
