CarComplaints.com Notes: How many transmission complaints can a new vehicle really receive? You'd be surprised. Unless you're a 2015 Cherokee owner, then I bet you're not surprised at all.
On our brand new 2015 Jeep Cherokee there is an issue with the transmission when the car decelerates around 20-25 mph. What happens is the rpm's will spike up 500-1000 from where it's at and the car feels like it wants to accelerate. I've seen it actually accelerate with my foot off the brake 1-2mph on a flat road until you feel the transmission finally downshift. If you have your foot on the brake when decelerating it feels like the brake isn't even working during this time until it downshifts and once the downshift happens you get a little jerk feeling like the brakes are finally working again.
I took the car back to the dealership already when it was around 800 miles on it and they say that it is operating within normal parameters. They say it is self learning and will get better over time. This does not sound like something that will get better over time. I'm on my way to another dealership this week to see what they say. The car now has 1300 miles and this issues seems to be getting worse. Even if it is self learning how could it possibly learn two different driving styles if both my wife and I drive the car.
I'm really frustrated and feel like I'm going to keep getting the run around trying to tell me it's operating within normal parameters because it does eventually downshift.
