This was only the start of my problems with the 2016 Jeep Cherokee. The first problems occurred in June 2021, and now here in August 2021 the car doesn't run. I was told the motor is ruined. There are additional problem reports to follow.

July 14th I stopped at a five way intersection. Once the light turned for my favor, when I applied the gas... It didn't move. The car was idling but no rpm's. With check engine soon... I manually shut off the car and decide to try it again but it still wouldn't roll no rpm's. I got out of the car and decided to check the gas cap. It was tight but clicked it a few times for good measure. Got back in after being honked at several times then it moved but seemed sluggish like it was stuck in third gear! Hubby took it to the dealership for me after I called the,. They stated my car had a defective gas cap, needed updates and sent him on his way. On 7/29 it happened again. The check engine came on again but didn't take it in. Seemed to resolve its self and dealership said it was ok via phone call. 2 weeks later on Aug 11th the vehicle just about got me and my passenger into a serious wreck! This time I was on a major highway at rush hour traffic in stop and go traffic I69. The led screen flashed four wheel drive temporarily out of service then the check engine light reared its head again and all four lights on the shifter column were flashing red (park, reverse, neutral and drive). Cars were flying past me like I was at the Indy 500 and just knew I was going to be struck! I shut the car off several times with no results other than I'm screwed! I played with the gas cap again because I'm stupid like that and it actually moved but making loud noises like the engine fan was in high gear and the vehicle crept along like it was model T with cars passing me like I was grandpa Walton.... Not a safe feeling especially for being a new vehicle. I called the dealership and they agreed to take my car. They have had it now for two weeks and three days have heard from them only twice, the first time because I phoned them since it had been a week and hadn't heard from them. Now I don't think I will be able to trust this vehicle after I get it back! Very concerned as this is a serious life safety issue. Communication is basically non existent so I have no clue what's going on... The dealer has my car still...

Update from Sep 6, 2016: I got the car back from the dealership who emphatically stated it was definitely fixed this time but tonight on the way home from work you guest it! Same problem TWICE. . Engine idled but no rpm just about got rear ended twice even with my hazard lights on ... Taking it back tonight for the THIRD time for same issue tonight Sept 6th. Sooooooo Frustrated at this car!!!!! Not fixed and Chrysler states this is a transmission problem grrrrr
