Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

10/16/2008 - purchased new 2008 Jeep Patriot 04/01/2009 - dome leak reported to dealership - no findings 11/03/2009 - dome leak reported to dealership - seal on sunroof glass was replaced and drains were unclogged 03/14/2009 - dome leak reported to dealership - drains were unclogged 11/18/2009 - dome leak reported to dealership - drains were unclogged 07/23/2014 - dome leak reported to dealership - out of warranty - referred to Chrysler - referred back to dealership. Evaluation and cost to repair this on going issue is on the customer. There are numerous reports via the internet and a law suit against Chrysler (findings unknown) for not notifying customers of the issue. As a consumer and owner, Chrysler, dealerships and the service departments have knowledge of the issue and have not found a permanent solution and I was told on 7/24/2014, by the service staff at the dealership not to purchase a vehicle with a sunroof. Chrysler should find a permanent solution and the cost should not be placed on the consumer for the repair and "maintenance" of a known design problem with a water leakage in the dome light, to the electrical parts of the vehicle.
