I was driving home from work and all of a sudden I heard a noise under the car. I stopped and went out to see and the front passenger tire was bent in and when I looked under the car the whole bar between the tire was rusted and it had a spot rusted through. I have my oil changed all the time at the shop and no one ever said anything about rust. Is this covered by any recall?

The crossmember fell off the car as I was driving it and I nearly crashed. I am the original owner of the car and always kept it in great repair. The crossmember is a $4000.00 part that was covered under warranty. The dealer would not fix the car because everything else was corroded under the car, and the repair beyond the warranty was going to be billed to me. The dealer said it would cost many thousands of dollars out of my pocket. Jeep customer service would not even buy the car back from me. They offered me nothing. The car was not even 8 years old. The body was in great shape and the engine was terrific. The entire underbodyand suspension failed. I hoped to keep that car for another 5 years. I'm disgusted and feeling very ripped off by Jeep. Patriot is the worst car ever made.
