Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated that the key entry warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that a module in the dashboard needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. Also, while driving 30 mph, the hatch back opened independently. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that a computer in the rear of the vehicle needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, after the repair, the key failed to communicate with the vehicle. The technician stated that a new key needed to be ordered. The vehicle was not repaired due to the part being unavailable. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 2,000. Updated 07/27/16 the consumer stated the hatchback failed several times, as it would not close. Updated 08/001/10.
