Problem 1 of 12: About 1 month after my purchase, the car was making a horrendous noise, like a freight train trying to stop. I drive to the dealership near work (losing time from work) and they told me it simply was a backing plate on the rear brake that wasn’t tightened down. It supposedly did no damage and they tightened it down and sent me on my way. Still under 30K miles, so no financial worries.

I have complained about the brakes making a grinding noise ever since I purchased the car. There was no letter sent to me about a bad wiring harness but the car had to be towed in once because nothing worked, no lights, couldn't even unlock the doors etc. I was never told of a recall on the tow bar, wiring harness, transmission or brakes or received a letter about a recall .

When the weather is cold, the brakes make an ear splitting squeal while breaking in reverse. The noise goes away after the brakes warm up. Reported it to the Jeep dealer and was told nothing could be done about the problem.

I noticed this fairly early after buying the car. I was hearing noise when I would apply the brake, like a low hum sound. I let it go because I thought it was me just hearing things? I have someone who's worked on my cars over the years and I wanted to show him my new car, so I took it to him. I asked him to just drive it around the block to see if he hears any noise when applying the brakes because I trust him. He drove it and said he didn't hear anything which surprised me, so I let it go. That was back in November 2015, but I would still hear noise.

So I went to the dealership service department for another concern (1/16/16) and while I was there I mentioned this problem. They looked at the car and told me I needed new pads and rotors and this is an issue with the Renegades. Everything has been fixed but I'm extremely unhappy that this is a new car and I've had these problems! It brought tears to my eyes and I was in a state of shock!!
