I have a 2012 Jeep Wrangler unlimited with 40K miles. Around 15K miles, I started experiencing issues with the driver side and front windshield heating/defrosting not working. Heating works on the passenger side, but not on the driver's side seating or windshield areas. This issue creates a comfort problem during cold days due to no heat on the driver's side but more importantly, creates a safety issue because the front windshield does not defrost properly without sufficient heat, creating unsafe driving scenarios. This issue was intermittent at first, but over the past 20K miles has become a frequent comfort and safety issue. This defect/issue/design flaw is a known problem with the current Wrangler unlimited as a number of others I know with the same vehicle experience this issue and you can find endless complaints of the issue on line. My dealer also explained they receive frequent complaints for this problem. I brought my Jeep to the dealership. They explained I need the heating core replaced, and due to its location behind the dashboard will cost me $1000+ to repair, primarily due to the labor required to pull off the dashboard and other car parts to reach and replace the heating core. This issue should be a recognized safety recall or service bulletin by Jeep/Chrysler with no out of pocket repair expense for the vehicle owners who expect to receive safe, high quality, well designed products from Jeep/Chrysler.

I have had at least 100 times where my Jeep has stalled and just stopped running. It has happened when I have slowed down, and has stopped in intersections. It has stopped when starting from a stop etc. I have had numerous manual transmission cars and this has never happened. It scares me, and makes me fear for my life. I have changed the way I drive because of it, with the fear of worrying my Jeep will just stop running, when I pull out into traffic. I have had the switches in the car not work, and function erratically. Lights stay on, when turned off, after turning them off numerous times, they finally go out. I have had my breaks respond oddly, and get weak. I have had the heater not come on, then turn switch again and it works. Have had defrost some on when defrost was off. Numerous electrical functions, malfunction. I don't bother with Jeep, as my mileage is over 36,000- no more warranty, but these things began, about a month or two into Jeep ownership. These problems used to be infrequent, but now this power failure happens often. Some days it happens 4-5 times. Please help me with this matter, I do not want to be injured or killed, due to this problem. I also do not want my family or someone else's hurt, because of it either. I started doing research about these issues and find I am not the only one, it is common. I also have a whistle in the brake line, vacuum I think"?" it causes the breaks to not be strong at times. I have had my brakes completely replaced and this condition persists, it also seems many with my model of Jeep experience this as well. All of the hinges on the doors are rusting from the inside out, as well, I see the paint bubbling up.

While driving, the engine, power steering and power brakes all went out. The first dealership said it was defective battery terminals, the next 2 agreed it was the tipm for the vehicle. When the start/run relay is moved at all, the vehicle shuts down. Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep have reported the part on backorder and have no estimate as to when it will be available.

Faulty tipm. Since buying the Jeep brand new it has done weird things (ie: Locks won't work, windows won't work, radio won't work) but if I just turned the Jeep off and back on the problem went away. However, now my locks quit working all together and only solution is replace the tipm but I didn't know that was the problem the whole time until now and now the Jeep is out of it's warranty and cost $1000 to fix.

P61-NHTSA 14V-631 I received a recall notice (reference above) and called my dealer to fix same. Was told no parts available to call back in 6 months. Called back and was told they still do not have parts. I believe this is unreasonable. Dealer: Brunswick auto mart, 3031 center road, brunswick, Ohio.

2012 Jeep Wrangler sport 3.6L vehicle does not start at random. Vehicle has stalled at highway speeds. All electrical will turn on but Jeep will not crank over or make any attempt to start. Wipers turn on, their own. Battery, and starter have both been checked. Evidence leads to faulty tipm sensor but because the Chrysler dealership can not duplicate the error after 5 tries they said they can not replace the tipm. Dealership states they can not just throw parts at it to fix the issue even with hundreds to thousands of other Chrysler products having the same issue.

I understand that this may not be in the NHTSA's arena but I wasn't sure where else to turn. Around the 21st of November 2014 the headlights, blinkers, cabin lighting and cruise control stopped working. I took the vehicle into capital Chrysler Jeep Dodge in garner nc on the 25th of November. The dealership diagnosed the problem as an electrical cluster in the instrument panel shorting out. The part is an exchange part and one of Chrysler's vendors would send a new part calibrated to my mileage to replace my shorted cluster and they would send my cluster back to be repaired. My vehicle was not allowed to be driven, despite physically working, because the new clusters mileage had to match the vehicles mileage and they had already submitted the mileage to the vendor. Around the 5th of December I was informed that the part was not going to ship from the vendor until the 19th of December. On the 19th I was informed by capital Chrysler Jeep Dodge that the part had not been shipped by the vendor and that they weren't expecting the part until after the new year. Today I received an update that the part is not expected to ship until the 12th. My case number with Chrysler is [xxx] and I give you permission to contact them about this incident. The part causes the lights and blinkers to not work. Chrysler is putting cars on the road that they aren't able to repair to a safely derivable condition in a reasonable period of time. Parked vehicle in garage on Saturday afternoon. Went to start it back up and the vehicle had no dash lights, turn signals, horn, brakelights, heated seats, etc. Had it towed to dealership on Monday October 20th. The dealer said that the cluster was out and it would take a few days to get one. At the end of the week they told us it would be Nov 1st. I checked in on Oct 30 and the dealership said the part was now tentatively scheduled for Nov 22. Opened a case with Jeep and have a case manager who told me today that the new tentative date is Nov 28. The parts seem to be unavailable and our Jeep has been inoperable for 33 days with no end in sight.
