Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

The rearview mirror on our vehicle started to show strange scratches on it which have started to spread over time. It has been almost a year now and you can barely see out of it because of the strange scratches. Went to Lexus and they stated it is over $1,800 dollars to repair it even though it is simply a defect part. Had full warranty but they would not replace it because it is a mirror defect.

Over several years the rearview mirror has become discolored with rust colored spots and streaks which make impairs visibility. This was discussed with the dealer multiple times and most recently corporate; while they acknowledge the issue they refuse to issue a recall or replace the part. It is a safety issue and the problem is well documented among owners of Gs and is vehicles.

The front window rear view mirror coating has come off from the inside of the mirror and has very very poor reflective qualities. With approx. 60% - 70% of the reflective mirror coating gone it makes it almost impossible to see what's behind you using this mirror and could definitely contribute or cause a accident. The dealer said this happens to this make and model but did not say they would replace it and said the approx. Cost for this mirror (I cant remember the exact cost) is around $800 or more dollars (expensive because of the electronics that are inside the rear view mirror). Please let me know if there has been more complaints about this car part or what can be done to have the dealer replace the mirror at no cost. Thanks
