I have contacted both Toyota and Lexus regarding this issue as to why the IS pearl white paint is not included in the Customer Support Program (CSP). I have provided them numinous images to validate the paint defect (also attached). Toyota told me due to the age of my vehicle it’s not covered, and the model is not included on their list. Given it’s now covering every metal part of the vehicle which is very apparent to an intelligent person, this issue is a defect. I can’t comprehend how Toyota/Lexus will not consider to cover this issue for the IS model, but will cover other models with production periods beginning from 2008. Those vehicle warranties would have expired prior to my vehicle, so why is this issue regarding the IS pearl white paint not being addressed?

I stated to the representative that I am more than willing to have my local Lexus dealership inspect the vehicle to validate for Toyota/Lexus of North America that the issue is in fact a paint defect, she said if the vehicle is not on the list and there is nothing she is able to do. I find this to be reprehensible of Toyota/Lexus to not support the customers who have support them over the years. I have had the vehicle serviced for 12 years by Lexus however that appears to not even matter. I am speechless!

How did Toyota/Lexus make the determination to cover 8 out of the 11 model vehicles listed on the recall list with production dates of 2008, those vehicle warranty periods must be out of date. Given my IS350c is a 2010 Toyota/Lexus is not willing to even consider having the vehicle inspected, but has no issue repairing older models? This absolutely makes no sense.

With the issuance of Toyota’s Customer Support Program (CSP) regarding pearl white paint problems, this does set a precedence for other models whose paint is pearl white to join in the recall, if the dealership can validate the original paint was defectively applied.

I truly want to work with Toyota to resolve this amicably, and hope that Toyota/Lexus will stand behind their loyal customers and address this issue for other models painted in pearl white with identical issues. Make no mistake - I have the fortitude standing my ground ensuring this is resolved.
