The head mechanic took it out on a road test and told me within 5 mins that it sounded like the steering column needed to be replaced. The dealership warranty made him replace the steering intermediate shaft (a less expensive part) saying that it couldn't possibly be the steering column assembly. They then did a 4 wheel alignment. The steering intermediate shaft did NOT fix the problem and the Steering Column Assembly was replace. The old intermediate shaft that was put back in had to be adjust because it was pulling to the left. Then a 4 wheel alignment was done again. The issue was resolved. Should have listened to their head mechanic!! Overall I was well taken care of. Received a loaner car. but had I been out of warranty, like I am now, it would have been about a $5000 repair.
