The contact owns a 2008 Mercury Mariner. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced overheating and a loss of power independently. The check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed or repaired. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 14V526000 (hybrid propulsion system); however, the contact was unable to get the remedy due to no certified Ford dealers in the city. The manufacturer was notified and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 102,000.
