I have a 2008 Mercury Mariner. When we bought it the front end rattled a lot. We had the front outer ball joints replaced and the front end aligned. It lasted less than 6 months before the front end started rattling again and out of alignment. One day I was leaving work and I went to make a left turn and the steering made a pop noise,it felt different. I had a lot of play in my steering. Then it vibrated the whole way home. My husband looked at it and there is a part at the end of the steering column that is about to fall out. I can't even drive it now it is that bad, my husband says its to dangerous for me to drive it because if something happen I would not know what to do to try and control it. So he is stuck driving it slowly to work. If someone could tell me the name of the part I would really appreciate it. Today my husband informed me that there has been a couple days that it didn't wanna pull.

I really don't know what to do I just want my Mariner back. I don't even know the name of the part, I have talked with several different people including FORD and told them what had happened and they all give me a different name for it. How in the world can I by a part that I don't have a correct name for.

CAN ANY ONE HELP WITH THE NAME OF THE PART I NEED!!!!!

It is a ujoint or bolt something like that is at the bottom of the steering column.

Thank you
