Summary
B38 and B48 Engines: Engine Oil Pressure Faults Stored in DME Memory. INFORMATION When diagnosing the vehicle, the following fault is stored in the DME: FC 1C0102 Engine Oil Pressure control, plausibility, static: pressure too low If the vehicle's integration level is not F056-14-11-500 or higher, and no other faults related to the engine oil pump or engine oil pressure regulating valve are stored in the DME, it can be ignored. This fault will not illuminate the Service Engine Soon lamp. When available, the vehicle can be reprogrammed to integration level F056-14-11-500 or higher to eliminate this erroneous fault. The release of this integration level is scheduled for December 2014. This bulletin will be updated when the applicable programming software is available. If one of the following faults is stored in the DME memory in conjunction with the fault above, or the oil pressure warning lamp is illuminated, proceed with diagnosing the vehicle with the applicable test plan for the fault stored. FC 1C2002 Oil pump, mechanical: Oil pressure too low And/or FC 1C0301 Oil pressure regulating valve, mechanical: hangs in a fully energized position (minimum oil pressure WARRANTY INFORMATION Not applicable.
