The upper and lower intake had to be replaced. I work at a chevy dealership so I had the work done here, I spent more money but I know it was done right. A lot of the time if you have this problem the person working on it will grind around the engine and get metal shavings in the motor and then you have real problems! Watch who you take this problem to. Also, I know this isn't a defect but when we bought the car from the dealer it was used but we never got our tent that goes on the back for tailgating, and we were missing our cooler that goes in the front console and the air compressor that does the air shocks and the air pump was MIA!

I am so ticked off about the problem that occurred with my car. I just bought the car about a year and a half ago. I am currently um employed and provide the only income in my household and the money that it took to repair my truck has put a big hole in my pocket. I am using public transportation at the time to get around because my husband uses the Ford to get back and forward to work. I noticed there was only one other complaint of the same nature for the same car. I am now wondering if this is a common problem with this vehicle and it just hasn't been reported yet. When the mechanic removed the cover to the motor there was a milky substance on it. He said it was from fluid leaking into the manifold gasket and mixing with the oil causing my engine to fail. I would like to have any information that informs consumers of problems like these that have occurred with this vehicle.

THIS PROBLEM CAUSED THE ENGINE TO FAIL REQUIRING IT TO BE REPLACED. GM OFFERED ME $2000 TOWARD A NEW VEHICLE, BUT IT WAS NOT PAID OFF YET. I STILL HAVE IT IN MY GARAGE, NOT SURE WHAT TO DO WITH IT YET. I TOOK GREAT CARE OF THE CAR AND I AM SO ANGRY ABOUT THIS. WITH A NEW FAMILY, IT'S HARD TO BE COME UP PAYMENTS ON A 2ND CAR AS WELL. BOUGHT A SIENNA FOR MY WIFE AND THE KIDS AND I'M DRIVING AN OLD SATURN. INSPITE OF WHAT PEOPLE THINK ABOUT THIS CAR, IT WAS GREAT FOR A SMALL FAMILY JUST REMEMBER THAT THIS PROBLEM IS WITH ALL THE 3.4 ENGINES IN ANY GM VEHICLE THST HAS ONE AND IF YOU HAVE THE REPAIR DONE THERE IS NO TELLING HOW DAMAGED YOUR ENGINE IS ALREADY.
