My 2007 Pontiac G6 shifts so hard and my engine light stays on all the time I have looked up online and multiple people have the same problem with the 06-07 models and it's the same exact problem as mine. It shifts way to hard there should be a recall on this for sure ! no one has been able to find a legit solution to fixing this problem GM really messed up when they made these cars if I would have read reviews first I definitely would no have bought this car ! as soon a share you turn the car on and put it in to reverse or drive it jerks really hard then every 10 mph you go it jerks you all the way forward trying to shift ! definitely disappointed really hope they do a recall because I can't afford to keep trying to fix this problem and nothing seems to work ! I'm sure everyone will appreciate ignorance they do a recall !!

Takata recall, I have a 2007 Pontiac G6 base model. It has 110,756 miles and it breaking down badly. The gear shift, transmission and steering wheel control all started to mess up around the same time. My friends father had the same exact car a few years ago and said that they have a transmission problem and to call the dealership and/or the manufacturer to find a solution to my problem.

As I was turning right to a stop light I was using my brakes and the car wouldn't brake that much until I pushed down harder than before. After turning right and going towards another stop light, I braked and the car stopped. It was still running, but the accelerator wasn't working and when I put the car back into park then drive, nothing happened. After I turned my car on and off a few times, I was able to drive my car into a nearby parking lot, but the steering was hard to turn. After many turn on and offs, the steering wheel wasn't tight anymore and I had someone else drive my car to my house. After a week, my parents told me start the car and let it run for 2 minutes. When I turned it on, it made like a 'gurgling' noise and when I turned it off, it was hard to turn the key and when I got out of my car, it started to smell. Before everything that I typed that happened, my car would start up with the 'gurgling' noise and would shake.

Power stirring went out suddenly causing the car to shake and not respond properly to driver operation. Other males have had issue but 2007 G6 hard top convertible didn't make that list, even though many other owners have had this safety issue on same model and year.

For awhile now my check engine light has been on and my no traction control light has been blinking so I had a full diagnostic inspection done that read nothing. As a result, I had them do a fuel system cleaning since there is a small jerky feel every time I drive. I also had them do a break fluid exchange but the no traction control light still blinks. Along with that, most times after fueling up my car, my car drives well and just fine but on September 18th, after fueling up, I was turning into traffic proceeding to the farthest lane so that I can turn left into my apartments then pop! and the steering wheel locked and the gear had locked in drive. This scared me so bad so I braked in every way I could hoping I wouldn't crash then tried shifting gears and cranking my car again. I got into the gates and into the parking lot then my car stalled and cut off again. I finally parked my car, popped the hood, and there was nothing wrong that I could see from my view. So, the next day September 19th I drove to class that morning and it stalled a bit any time I increased my speed as if it wanted to cut off. I got into the parking lot of my college and it cuts off as soon as I begin to turn into a parking spot between two cars. I crank it up, complete my park then I go inside for class until lunch. On lunch, I crank up my car and wow the check engine light is finally off but as usual the no traction control light is blinking. I test drive my car to the local winn dixie and back and on the way back pop! then it stalls to cut off but doesn't cut off so I take it back to my college before lunch is over and park it. Now it's the end of the day and I'm out of class and headed home. This time I make it into the gate but I'm getting close to going over a speed bump and pop! it doesn't cut off but it's stalls badly like it wants too so I proceed to drive then park it. Please, help.

I am greatly in need of your assistance. I own a 2007 Pontiac G6 hardtop convertible. I purchased it in January 2016. About a month after purchase, I tried to put the top up. On its way to closing and locking its mechanism caused a malfunction and broke the part number 25887153 away. I immediately contacted the dealer @ GM of vacaville, ca. The dealership told me, 'this part is no longer available', & they had my vehicle for 3 weeks. I have incurred $ 1400. In auto rental fees. I have talked with more than 20 Pontiac dealers all state; "we have been told by GM to say - the part no longer exist and is not available"the parts manufacture, karmann made the part for GM. They may have the part in their warehouse. But, according to their employee, GM will not give their permission to sell it the worst thing is: I have been in contact with over 25 parts dealers I called GM at 1-866-790-5600 ext. 5914235 and spoke with natalie. She attempted to assist but after no progress. A male answered the phone he indicated that he was her supervisor, however refuted to give me his name, and then stated, 'it's not available, the part is discontinued, and Pontiac doesn't exist so get over it, or deal with it! it's not my problem, it's yours, and you don't even have a warranty cause its expired.' He slammed the phone down in my ear. Please assist me to get the part, or buy back the vehicle and return my incurred costs of $13,500.the "top is not secure" has left no option but to purchase another vehicle. The G6 is garaged and undrivable

Left passenger headlight constantly goes out. I have replaced bulb several times but when I took to the shop the plug was melted. I had to buy a replacement headlight ensemble. Several cars this model is driving around with one headlight on dim and two on bright.

I've had several problems (4) to where my power steering will go out. I wouldn't be able to turn my steering wheel properly. I've had to get this fix multiple of times and decided to check and see if there was a recall on my vehicle for it. I don't see it so I decided to right a review about it. I hope this helps someone else not just me that fears for this to happen to them. Also, the driver (front) and brake/reverse lights has went out. I can't seem to get anyone that knows how to fix my brake/reverse lights. I've got my driver side fixed several time as well and it still tends to go out on me.

The parts manufacture, karmann made the part for GM. They may have the part in their warehouse. But, according to their employee, GM will not give their permission to sell it - even to a GM dealer. The worst thing is: I have been in contact with over 25 parts dealers and they all have said: "you are one of hundreds of calls we are getting about this same problem".. I am a single hardworking mother who was finally able to purchase herself a dream vehicle, only to have this happen with no resolution in sight. Please assist me to get the part, or buy back the vehicle and return my incurred costs of $13,500.

The sensors in my vehicle doesn't work! I always get a service alarm saying check passenger air bag the passenger seatbelt indicator comes on when there's a passenger thereand the seatbelt is on. Also mysteering wheel is crazy, my signals doesn't work well becausemy steering wheel stays at a 90 angle after having an alignment. There are plenty of people I haveheard has these problems. In the incident of an accident, death, etc. Ibelieve thecompany should be held liable. One day I was told there was a recall on my vehicle for the seatbelt and airbag problem, by a Pontiac dealership, now no one know what I'm talking about. I believe this should be a recall as it can result in severe injury and especially death.

After coming to a complete stop - when I begin to accelerate the car does not want to move - then I have to let off the gas and try again it will slowly move and then jerk. It does a hardshift and will do this at random times- no matter if I have driven 0 or 10 or 100 miles. Sometimes it will hardshift when I first leave in the morning and sometimes it doesnt. Sometimes it hardshifts mid day - but it is always after a complete stop. If I use the tap shift then it does not do this. Others have been recalled for transmission problems exactly of this nature - but I do not see my specific VIN listed with a recall for this - I know 1 other person with this same car and they also have the same problem. Campaign# 14V224000 - recall # 14152.my make, model and year are listed & I have owned my car since August 2013 and have never received anything regarding this recall. When I search my VIN this recall does not show up but there is obviously an issue -
