I just sent my car to the shop because the same thing happened to me, but I was not driving up a hill, I was driving at 1:30 in the morning on a night that it was 5 degrees and snowing hard. I lost the power steering and the light on the interior went dim causing me to lose control of the car and hit a snow bank, which pulled me into a tree. Car is int he shop now with a lot of damage.

I was driving up in the mountains and had my foot into the pedal pretty good and was on a bit of an incline and when I really hit the gas pedal my interior gages shut off and I also think my power steering stopped working. Once I let off the gages lit back up and everything seemed fine. So being curious I tried the same thing again and had the same result. This scared me half to death and Im not really sure what to do about it. Ill probably be calling today to find out.
