Door ajar sign came on my radio display to night as I was getting ready to leave work tonight. I asked to lady I give a right home to check her door, checked mine, checked both back doors, and checked the trunk. still on! When I put it in Drive chime, chimed to let me know a door was ajar. In the past when I put the car in drive doors lock, and interior lights fade. Had to drive with interior lights on. Did not notice if locks locked or not, also didn't notice if her airbag was turned on.

I had googled the problem and i have come to my own conclusion that it is a door adjar sensor. I believe it is the one in the drivers door because when the door is shut and key in it still dings as if it were open. It says door adjar on the DIC on the radio. The interior lights stays on and will not go off until the battery save feature shuts it off after 20 min. If you lock the car, after an hour or so the alarm will start to go off. The first time this started to do this crap was at 2:00am!! NOT happy at ALL!!!

I'm driving along and the door alarm sounds and displays on the dash says door ajar even though the doors are shut. This happens intermittently. but happens everyday, I tried opening and shutting each door , to no avail..The problem is still there

Update from May 13, 2011: Took car to dealer, they replaced door latch

The dome lights would not go off until I drove around the block. I had to exit through the passenger door to keep them off overnight. The problem has not reoccurred and the local shop says they need to see the problem in order to figure out what is going on. It likely won't happen again until 9 on a Saturday night like last time. The drivers door would not lock using the entire switch and none of the doors locked when taking the car out of park.

This has happened twice since March 26th, and the car is only five days old! I've never had a problem with the GM vehicles I've purchased, but this is my daughter's car and she bought it from this dealer where I've done business since 1985. If they cannot fix this on the second try, I am asking them to replace the car with a new one because she doesn't need this kind of a hassle with a supposedly brand new car.

YESTERDAY MY DOOR AJAR LIGHT WOULD NOT GO OFF, THEN THE DOORS WOULD NOT LOCK WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE, THEN THE DOORS WOULD NOT LOCK FROM THE INTERIOR, AND FINALLY THE DOME LIGHTS WOULD NOT GO OFF. THIS IS THE FOTH GM CAR I HAVE LEASED AND ALL OF THEM HAD PROBLEMS. THE WORSE WAS MY 2006 BUICK LUCERNE
