Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Vue 6-cyl

I went to open the driver side front door and the exterior handle just broke. The breakage point occurred "inside" the door, at the rear portion of the handle. From the outside the driver is unable to open the door. I must enter the vehicle from the passenger side to use the interior door handle, to open the driver's door. The exterior door handle is still attached on the front end but is completely unusable.

Safety recall for 2008 Saturn Vue with same color door handles would be replaced with chrome handles. My 2008 Saturn Vue has the same color door handles and when I took it into the dealership, they stated that they would not replace the handles because the VIN wasn't part of the recall. However, my door handles have stuck in the open position several times. Knowing of the recall, I'm very careful to make sure that the door handle latches and the door closes. Although I'm careful, my passengers may not notice it and could possibly have the door open on them.
