Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

The contact owns a 2013 Toyota 4runner. While driving at approximately 60 mph, the vehicle began to jerk. The accelerator pedal was depressed, but the vehicle did not accelerate. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the throttle emission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The approximate failure mileage was 49,000. The VIN was unavailable.

My 2013 Toyota 4runner ltd, on three different times this past month, activated its vsc/ ABS system when I was turning on a winding road. I was traveling at or below the posted speed limit( 30 mph or less). This caused the vehicle to apply the ABS to the outside front wheel which pulled me off the road or across the double yellow line into oncoming traffic. I had no control of the vehicle when the vcs/ABS system activated. If not for the low speed the outcome would have been much worse. I notified Toyota service and have appointment to check same on 4-2-2014. After reading numerous accounts about Toyota 4runners having the same issue ( I felt that this was a larger issue which should be reported.
