We don't have a lot of complaints on file for the Toyota MR2 (although feel free to add yours here) -- it's either not very popular ... or it's very, very good.
The 2001 Toyota MR2 has the most complaints, & the most-reported problem is also with the 2001 MR2 for rattle coming from the engine.

not engaging in all gears -- 1986 MR2:
