Gas smell is severe, especially after filling the gas tank. Had the car to a Toyota dealer 3 times, they cannot determine what problem is. Cannot keep car in garage as gas smell is so bad. Very careful when filling tank to not drop any gas, always put cap on tight. Dealer indicated never had a problem with l999 Toyota Avalon like I have. Engine light does not come on to indicate any problems. Only have 84,000 miles and it has been a wonderful car but very upset with problem I have now as I cannot afford to buy a new car and this car has a lot of life left in it and the dealer cannot guarantee that if they replace the canister (connected to gas tank) that it would solve my problem. Any suggestions?????
