The oil cooler line sprang a major leak in which all the oil leaked out with no warning. This was the original rubber hose which had never been replaced and which I, as the second owner of the car, was never warned about. This occurred long after the extended warranty. The car was driven to a repair shop and I am afraid of any major damage to or excess wear that may have occurred.
So far the engine seems to run fine but I have not had any inspection done on the engine components. The problem was fixed by installing the all metal replacement part.
