I brought my car to Toyota Dealer regarding the problem on my rear door not opening automatically. I was told that the motor is the problem and needed to be replaced, which will cost me about $900. I was told they would not replace it free because the problem is not the hinge joint and it's the motor. The door used to automatically open and close once in a while but now it's completely out and I have to open and close it manually. I have read some complaints regarding the power lift gate problem with Toyota highlander but found no recall regarding this problem.
