2014 Highlander XLE AWD wouldn't start. The keyless fob would not lock/unlock the doors. The cabin lights were set to "door" and when the door was closed, faded on an off continuously. I replaced the batteries in both key fobs and still they don't work. AAA came out to test and then replace my car battery. This did not solve the key fob issue. The cabin lights still fade on and off. I have to manually lock/unlock my car (annoying). The car starts, and when I turn it off and open the door, the warning light tells me that no key is detected.
If I am away from the car for 2+ hours, the fob will work; as soon as I start the car, the fob stops working - warning light tells me no key is detected when I shut off the engine and open the door. I also have the issue with the radio/entune/navigation/voice control rebooting. It would appear that there is a glitch in the software that Toyota is using. Of course, my troubles began shortly after we paid off my car and naturally, it is no longer under warranty.
