First of all the dealer at Southbay Toyota Gardena Joe the service manager did not know the purpose of the buttons he was a real ass about the whole thing. Secondly the purpose of the buttons i found out thru a friend told me the buttons are to indicate where the child seat anchors to the metal loops in between the back and the seat. Why in the world would the child seat loops need to have location indicators is a mystery? This is definetly a design flaw. as you can see from the photos the buttons are not holding anything other than a possible catch for someones belt, pocket or child seat edge as you install. It just so happened that our booster seat that is mandatory in California caught as it was installed onto the seat and as my 65 lb kid sat in it. it tore the seat . The service manager at Southbay Toyota Gardena did not even know the purpose of the button. What an idiot? Never again will I service the car at this dealership and I will tell all my circle of friends the same. Oh and by the way the car is only two weeks old! I would not recommend this vehicle for anyone who has to use child seats......
