Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety. Notes: The Toyota Matrix is the mechanical twin of the Pontiac Vibe.

Both models were a joint GM-Toyota venture, manufactured together at a NUMMI production facility in Fremont, CA. Only the heating & A/C systems are different.

The manufacturer stereo which is a 5 disc changer cd player, does not work properly. The stereo will not accept cds. When I had it looked at by an independent repair serviceman, he informed me that the cd player had the limit of 5 cds in it. The cd player does not recognize that they are in there but will not accept any either. I found a matching stereo from an individual owner to replace my non-working one. When the professional installer tested it, we had the exact same problem with the second stereo. I have contacted Toyota by phone twice, by email once, taken it to a dealer once, and contacted the BBB. I have since replaced it. The dealer said that they could not repair it. Toyota will not replace it.
