Both models were a joint GM-Toyota venture, manufactured together at a NUMMI production facility in Fremont, CA. Only the heating & A/C systems are different.
Backed out of a parking space in a shopping center, went about 50 yards and the car revved high like it was going 100 mph then it jumped forward. I slammed on the brakes and put it in neutral and it went back to normal idling. Looked online for recalls and found none. Took the car to my mechanic and he could not find anything wrong. Luckily no one was in front of me or this could have been a real disaster with people getting injured or killed. I have read online that other people have complained about the same problem. Why aren't there recalls from Toyota before someone gets seriously hurt?????
