The ABS Brake Actuator failure is actually a common problem on 2004-2009 Prius models.
Do you hear a repetitive rumbling under the hood over on the drivers side while parked that happens for 5-10 seconds then is off for 5-10 seconds or up to a minute off or on? Have you heard a "barking" sound from the front of vehicle when you press on the brake pedal? Those are symptoms of the Brake actuator failing.
I have been hearing those things on my '09 since 2016 but never thought anything about it until the dashboard lit up with "BRAKE" "(!)" "ABS" "VSC" lights a few weeks ago.
My car is nice and worth the repair cost, but be aware if you are test driving one, park it with ready mode on and listen for several minutes, and if you hear the rumbling turning on and off under the hood, then you probably want to have the actuator replaced before you buy the car to save 2900ish cost.
