Battery has been replaced 4 times since '06 under warranty twice, once as good faith by the dealer and the last one was a 3 way split: toyota canada, dealer, and myself. No one had a solution as of yet. Have done some digging on past model years and their bandaid fix was a different alternator that would charge at slower speeds(ie short trips 2-4+blocks). The battery would seem to last from new for about 12000Km then wouldn't hold a charge and would end up with a dead cell or two. The original explanation was lights left on, then it became interior lights left on, then they came to the conclusion they were stumped. Seeing as my wife drives the vehicle mostly she is very careful making sure no lights are ever left on. We have since moved out of town(longer trips 10-20km one way) we haven't had a issue with the battery lately.

Sienna CE 3.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 55,000 miles

We purchased our car new from a dealer. I am very please with this car, just for the fact that I have to jump this car several time in the past year, thinking that maybe my kids left a light on or any electronic connected to the outlet because of the battery failure, I change the battery with a new battery, I went and replace the battery twice already (Under warranty) thinking of a battery malfunctioning. I am researching this site to see who else is experiencing this issue and it seems like a whole lot of people are having electrical problem with this car. I took it to the dealer and let them know what's going on and I ending paying 516.00 for a fuse (don't remember the name) Under the main fuse box, I will recall it later, I am on my way to pick up my Minivan from the Dealer.

Sienna LE 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 55,000 miles

I have never been more frustrated with putting brand new batteries in five year old car with only 55,000 miles. There has got to be something wrong her but my mechanic can't find the problem either. I bought a Toyota because I was told they were so dependable. Tell that to my wife who gets stranded and can't even jump a brand new battery on a 2006 Toyota Sienna. I cannot believe I am the only one with this problem. There has got to be a drain on the battery from the electrical system somewhere but nobody knows where. All I know is that I cannot start the car about every week. The brand new batteries won't take a charge either. This is the strangest problem I have ever had with car. This car is way to young to have this problem

Sienna CE 3.3L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 26,000 miles

My 2006 Sienna CE battery keeps dying. Suddenly the car will fail to start. I jump start and then drive. The battery will work for few days and then again die. I changed the battery today and hope it will work.
