Sienna Limited 3.3L V6

Bought my sienna used in august 2013 with 94k miles nice van had everything I wanted. Noticed the problem when I went over a bump felt like the van could lose control for an instant. In Michigan in the winter the roads get bumps from freezing. Dangerous combo when you add snowy roads to the mix. I've driven Chrysler vans for years, never experienced this. Thought I was upgrading maybe not.

Sienna LE V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 47,000 miles

I was experiencing a problem with my 2006 Sienna LE where the rear end would swing out when I rolled over a bump at 70mph or more. This went on for about 3,000 miles and then the rear shocks quit completely. I contacted my Toyota dealer but they were no help at all. I will be replacing the shocks within the next week but am not sure what brand to use.

If anyone can suggest whether I replace with the Toyota shocks or there is something better, I would appreciate it. Also, if there is a way to get Toyota to fess up and replace these lousy shocks. I have never replaced shocks with less than 100,000 miles in the past 20 years.

Sienna LE

  • Automatic transmission
  • 40,000 miles

Everytime I hit a bump going more than 60 miles per hour, the back end of the minivan swerves. I have a friend who test drove the same vehicle and did not have that problem. I've had it to the dealer twice and another repair shop about 3 more times, no one sees anything wrong. The same friend ended up buying a 2006 Toyota Sienna, hers is the better model, and does not have this problem. In longer trips where the highway speed limit is 75 or more, it can become very uncomfortable to drive. No recall seen - yet. causes swerving
