The clear coat on my van in peeling, especially on the top of the car. Today when driving to work I looked out my rear view window and it looked like leaves were blowing off my car. I was not parked under a tree earlier so I was confused. Then I realized it was clear coat flakes. I kept checking again hoping it would stop but it was several miles before it did. When I parked my car I ran my hand across the top of the back hatch and the clear coat just flaked right off. It looks horrible. I'm very embarrassed to drive my van like this. I just want to hide it when I park it. In the past, I've gotten an occasional chip or scratch on a door here and there and that was ok. This peeling is really bad and leaves a flake trail wherever I go.

The van otherwise drives fine and is reliable. The peeling makes it look like a clunker. So embarrassing.

Purchased this van from Koons Tysons Toyota in Tysons Corner, VA, as a Certified Pre Owned vehicle. It was night time when purchased, and could not really see the runs and crappy repaint they did on the rear bumper. The next week I hand washed my new van, and could see where the clear coat was peeling off my bumper, and runs in the center of the rear bumper as well. All panels are to be repaired to factory condition under the Toyota Certified Pre Owned program.. Well they sent this one on through the inspection process with defects. I called my local dealer, and brought the car in for inspection. At that point the determination was made this van's bumper had been repainted very quickly and not very long ago, probably a month or so. Toyota cannot cover this due to it not being original Toyota paint. I would have to trek all the way back to VA to the selling dealer to have them repair this. I called the Toyota customer care hotline, and got nowhere. So back to Koons I went. Instead of refinishing this bumper professionally, they have just buffed out the paint runs, and did a quick re clearcoat of my bumper. I will NEVER EVER buy another TOYOTA, and NEVER a car from Koons.
