The airbag warning light on my 2007 Sienna started flashing. The Toyota dealer diagnosed the problem as a failure in the wiring harness of the airbag system under the driver's seat. The dealer installed updated air bag connectors and pig-tail harness as per tsb. Dealer's charge: $337.39. A review of the NHTSA database of complaints for this model and year shows 12 similar complaints out of a total of 173, as of 9/12/2013. Given the critical nature of this equipment, the need for it to operate in an emergency and the frequency of this failure it should be considered a safety issue. The manufacturer should either recall affected vehicles or make this repair at no cost to the owner.

Upon starting up the vehicle the drivers side airbag indicator began blinking instesd of going out. Called dealership who said it would be $60-$115 just to look at it and he couldn't imagine what it was. After looking online and seeing the high cost of repair and the number of complaints I will be taking to an independant mechanic to get his thoughts. Vehicle has not been in an accident so I do not feel as if this is a component that should go bad. And if it does the consumer should not have to pay for repair as this is a safety component.

Started vehicle and the air bag SRS light began flashing.the light flashed for about 2 weeks then went out. About 1 week later it began flashing again.the last couple of weeks it has been on and off.it will be off 2days or so then flash for a day or two. It was off yesterday but on today. I have researched the problem on line and found many people with the same problem. I have not been to a dealer because of the high cost many people are being quoted to repair the problem. Some people had their cars repaired only to find the problem return.I am very concerned about this safety problem. When it flashes, is it operational? we may be driving our cars without air bag protection.

Had 2007 Sienna serviced for blinking air bag light at Toyota dealership. Service dept. Stated that the sensor needed to be cleaned; charge was roughly $100 as the vehicle was over the 60,000/5 yr warranty. On 05/29/2012 car was serviced again for blinking air bag light; however, service dept. Stated that the light was not blinking at the time the car was serviced, so the problem could not be assessed. The air bag light came on again for the third time and we were informed that the wire on the passenger side needed to be replaced at a cost of $1,100. Funny how the light keeps coming on, but the problem could never be assessed, and now it costs $1,100 to fix. Needless to say, we are not having it fixed and we pray for no accidents--pretty scary. We have had nothing but problems with this vehicle and we will never purchase another Toyota.

Flashing airbag light in 2007 Sienna with ~49K miles. Dealer suggested replace floor wire and air bag assembly - $3500 total. Not under warranty; error code B0116. Many similar complaints found on the internet for 06/07 Siennas. Cannot believe that Toyota does not stand behind its airbags more than the basic warranty when safely equipment failed less than 50K miles. The repair cost is too high which is a result of bad design. Safety equipment failure should be responsible by manufacture, especially the mileage is less than 50K. Have owned numerous vehicles with no airbag problems ever.

Flashing airbag light in 2007 Sienna with ~90K miles. Dealer states front passenger airbag sensor failure - $700 to replace. Not under warranty; error code B0111. Many similar complaints found on the internet for 06/07 Siennas. Opted not to replace sensor due to concerns about it failing again. Cannot believe that Toyota does not stand behind its airbags more than the basic warranty. Have owned numerous vehicles (94 Acura for 7 yrs; 96 Mazda for 7 yrs; 01 BMW for 8 yrs; 03 Acura for 9 yrs) with no airbag problems ever. No one in my or my wife's family has ever had an airbag problem similar to this.

The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Sienna. The contact stated that the air bag warning lamp was illuminated. The failure and current mileage was 112,000.

I have a 2007 Toyota Sienna van. The SRS light intermittently comes on. I took it in for general maintainance as well as to check the air bags. I got an error code of BO111 and was told it would be several hundred to fix. I chose not to have it fixed at this time as it was the passenger side. Now the light has gone off. Im not sure if in fact it is an airbag problem or electrical. I was also in an accident in 2009 which I could not even open my door and the vehicle was not driveable and the airbags did not deploy. Toyota is looking into this. Hopefully, it will be covered because I do believe this is a manufacturers issue.

SRS warning light continued flashing after start up. Dealer confirmed error code B0111. Passengers air bag and harness needs replaced. These items are covered with "updated parts" in a Toyota tsb 0162-10, dated 02/27/2008, covering Sienna model years 2004 through 2008. Over one hundred similar occurrences are found on various safety related and owner based internet sites. This is an obvious oem defect of a critical vehicle system that Toyota has been aware of for some time now.

My name is [xxx] and I have a 2007 Toyota Sienna with an airbag light that intermittently comes on and off. As a mechanic, I researched my airbag light diagnostic trouble code B0111 open in side squib rh circuit and there is a tsb on repairing the airbag light. It says to replace the airbag assembly in the passenger front seat. As mechanic, I know that when the airbag light is on, the airbags will not deploy in an emergency situation. Therefore, I don't see why a safety issue such as this is not a recall. So instead of a recall, I must now spend $900 on just the airbag, nevermind the cost to install it? I do not believe that I should be responsible for such a costly repair due to the fact that this is a safety issue that I could not have prevented. The tsb number is T-sb-0252-08 from my repair program, mitchell on demand and it says Toyota's reference number is [xxx]. information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
