Automatic doors continuing to malfunction. I made a complaint to dealer almost immediatley after purchase and problem persists...I have had my doors repaired several times and I now have 2 non functioning doors! it has also been reported to my car dealer that the rear passenger door has opened while I was driving on the thruway with my children.. I have also called to report the issue and to put in a complaint to Toyota and still have the issue.

The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Sienna. While driving approximately 45 mph, the rear driver side sliding door opened on its own. The door ajar warning indicator illuminated and the door chime sounded. The contact pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road, closed the door, and continued driving. The contact stated that the door opened at least ten times in a week. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and filed case number: 18009170105. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 164,000.

2010 Toyota Sienna. Consumer writes in regards to sliding door cable assembly problems. The consumer stated a few months ago, he had endless problems with the latch assembly on both sliding doors, which the dealership repaired, as they stated it was on recall. The consumer had to go back several times, before they finally fixed it. Soon after, the problem with the cable assembly on the passenger side door cropped up, and surprisingly, that particular part was not recalled. Due to the failure of the cable, the consumer was unable to open the door.

Passenger power sliding door stopped working. The dealer informed the consumer, the issue was with the cable assembly. The consumer further found out, the part was recalled on previous models. With the cable assembly broken, the door would un-latch, but could not be motorized to open.
