Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

Solara SLE 3.3L V6

  • Automatic transmission

i bought my car earlier this year, with just under 100,000 miles it was actually flawless. about a week after i got it the transmission started to shift weird, the problem progressively got worse and now i find the problem almost dangerous. pulling onto the interstate accelerating to get into traffic the transmission will almost refuse to shift up, then i slightly let off the throttle...THEN it shifts up, very violently. the violent shifts also occur when starting from a stop..i let off the brake, the car goes nowhere until I'm forced to push the throttle a little..and then it drops into gear a lurches forward not under warranty and i understand that, but i guess i just expected more from a toyota!
