I've owned my '04 prerunner for about 5 months now. The seats have no lumbar support, and they are soft. My lower back pain/hip pain started a couple months after owning. At first I thought it was due to work, but others on tacomaworld.com have the same problem, and lots of talk about seat swapping 3rd gen 4 runner seats in. It's a shame these seats are so uncomfortable, because I was hoping to keep this truck for years. I have even bought a gel back rest from amazon called comformax but I still have pains. :(
