Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

I have a 2006 Toyota Tacoma. I took it to my local Toyota dealer in August to address the recalls needing to be done. They tell me they are backed up trying to get recalls fixed. It is now November and have not been called yet. Now the leaf springs are on recall. I replaced one leaf spring in September 2014 due to it snapping.will I get reimbursed from Toyota for this repair"? I have not heard from my local Toyota dealer as to when they can fix the recalls, they said they will call me when they can get me in. What year will that be? will my second leaf spring snap and puncture the tank before it gets repaired" or will the frame possible rust out and fall on the leaf springs....... I love Toyota Tacoma, disappointed in the follow thru/timeliness on fixing these problems.

My airbag light came on last week and I found a recall for this issue. I just found out that the recall for the airbag light due to a spiral cable in the steering wheel of my Toyota was not covered for my Tacoma model. Further diagnostic revealed it is the spiral cable and they are charging me $600. They said it is a safety concern and the airbag would not have deployed.

My airbag light came on last week and I found a recall for this issue online. When I brought my Tacoma to the dealership the technician told me the recall for the airbag light due to a spiral cable in the steering wheel was not covered for my Tacoma model. The dealership said the current recall was for a certain spiral cable not in my model Tacoma and that it should not be the issue. The next day the dealership called and said further diagnostic revealed it is the spiral cable and they are charging me $600 to repair a safety issue. The dealership said this was a safety concern and that the airbag would not have deployed if I were to have been in an accident.

Vehicle was recalled for spiral cable which could result in airbag light staying on. Toyota has a problem with the airbag and are using the spiral cable as an excuse to get you in and then charge you for fixing their faulty airbag. Toyota should be recalling the vehicles for faulty airbags not spiral cables. The more investigation I do the more I can see that many others have the same problem and are being ignored by Toyota.

The airbag (SRS) light started blinking. A little research has uncovered this to be a common problem. I would think a recall would be in order due to the potential for serious injury if the system did not function in an accident. Why has a recall not been issued?

Airbag light on. Had vehicle diagnosed by independent mechanic. Said vehicle needs new spiral cable (clock spring). Called dealer for recall information and was told that there is a pending recall out sometime this summer 2012 but if wanted to repair now would be at my expense. Why no action on known problem. There are even ads on ebay to repair the spiral cable and/or connectors. One such vendor has done hundreds of repairs.

Air bag light came on. I went into Toyota escondido to have it checked. Cost $105 to have them tell me it was the spiral cable and needed to be replaced. Stated that none of my airbags would work if that light was on and that my insurance would not cover me in an accident if the airbags did not deploy. Total cost for repair $654.80. I have talked to many Tacoma owners about this problem and they have all experienced it. Some have it fail under warranty and some like me have to pay. This shouldn't be happening.
