engine stmbles/hesistates severely on hard acceleration
the check engine light has never come on. there are no codes. the truck operated normally under all conditions and temps, except for the severe hesitation stumble when you floor it because you need it. the truck has plenty of power except when i need it most. truck ran fine until the extended warranty ran out. i have a heavy foot but i had never really pressed it to the floor and held it, but then i got into a situation when i went to pass a farm tractor and there was a car coming. when i floored it the RPMs never increased until i let off the gas to slam on brakes and pull back in behind tractor. one of these days i am going to try and pass a car or need quick acceleration and its not going to be there in time. i have read online that Toyota knows about this unsafe issue, and has not informed owners about it or offered a solution. i believe the writer said it was an ECM issue. i do not know if this is true. all i want is to be able to depend on all the acceleration the truck can offer when i need it.
