2012 Tundra started hearing a noise coming from the rear end so took it into Toyota dealer for a service and asked them to check it. Well they came back and said the rear end has water in it.........I said how could that be and after a couple hours they said the breather plug was missing and that water must have gotten in through it.

My truck only has 21,000 miles on it - and the only shop it has ever been was theirs so you would conclude either it was never put in to start with, or it got knocked out on the road or it got knocked out during a service at their shop, or I guess it could have just jumped out. My guess is that unless it was a really poor design and came out, that it was never their or if it was got knocked out during servicing.

Anyway they changed the fluid in the rear end and said that because of the water the warranty was void.....and now I have a truck that has a roaring noise coming from the back end and they tell me the only to fix it is to replace the rear end at my expense.

I bought a Toyota because I thought they were reliable........wish now I had bought another brand....you can be sure next time I will
