Doing my usual trip to work approaching a 4 way intersection I tried slowing down the car to make a right turn but the brakes kicked on then completely went out. I had to avoid making that turn at approximately 25 MPH which gave me doubts that I would overturn the car if I did or hit cars at the lights on the other side. Having a green light I kept going straight and in fear I tried maneuvering and going into a curb and bush to avoid anyone else from getting involved. I hit a traffic pole straight on that stopped me and totaled the entire car.
I escaped with minor pains that night after the police and ambulance arrived. Got a ride to work from the police after a check up because I have no vacation days but as time went on the pain was too much. Went home and next day went to the ER but had no broken bones or anything. This was a brand new car from the dealership, spoke to the dealership salesman and his reply was that even new cars are mechanical and anything can happen. Really? would that be an answer to give to a person that almost lost their life? I am glad to say the safety belt saved my life but something needs to be addressed about this with VW which I am planning to do so when I feel better from all the pain.
