wastegate rod rattle -- 2011 GTI:
An annoying tin-can rattling sound rears its ugly head at 2300 to 2900 rpms. This sound appears to stem from the wastegate building pressure before relief. The local VW technician acknowledged the problem, but tried unsuccessfully to add weights to the rod to quiet the defective part. Read more »
