Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

The contact owns a 2003 Volkswagen Gti. While driving at speeds of 50 mph, the check engine warning light illuminated on the instrument panel and the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to move the vehicle from the roadway without incident. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where he was advised the failure was due to failed ignition coil packs. There were no repairs made to the vehicle. The failure recurred. The failure mileage was 78,000 and current mileage was 83,000.

2003 Volkswagen Gti. Ignition coil failure. Dealer replaced (1) of (6) coils for this vehicle. Week later, another coil failed. Suggest dealer replaces all coils when problem exists so customer with a (6) cylinder vehicle does not have to come back six time for a repair.
