Passat Luxury VR6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 6,700 miles

This car was purchased as a dealer demonstrator with 6700 miles on it. The night we drove it home the right HID headlight unit failed. It took the dealer 2 weeks to find and install a new unit. The car could not be driven.

problem #1

2006Sep 11

(reported on)

Passat

  • 3,000 miles

The right headlight failed at 1500 miles and was repaired by the dealer. The same headlight failed again at 3000 miles. The dealer says it cannot be repaired - the entire assembly needs to be replaced. I have been waiting for over a month for that new assembly. The dealer and "VW Customer Care" both say the part is on backorder. I do not know what to do next short of beginning "lemon law" action against VW.
