ENGINE, EPC & also the MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHTS came on at the same time and I was told that it was the IGNITION COIL PO300, PO302 and PO304 and needed to be replaced. The car shook with any acceleration whatsoever. Immediately, took to dealership. They diagnosed bad ignition coils, recommend me to replace all 4.The car is 4 years old, I'm unsure how an ignition coil just goes bad. That was 11 months ago and now the same issue they found 3 INTERMITTENT CODES on COIL PO300, PO302 and PO304 cylinders 2 and 4 MISFIRE. They checked MISFIRE Detection. and now they're RECOMMENDING ME THE CARBON SERVICE. the cost of this Service is $695 and Labor $300lus tax so we are looking a total of $1200 dollars. The reason why I know that I don't need this service is because me and my brother in law, we check the codes with a CAR DIAGNOSTIC SCANNER and it gave me the same codes that they replaced on 9/13/2016 of the same COILS which they are PO300, P0302 and PO304. I'm being told that it needs the CARBON SERVICE TREATMENT DONE as soon as possible. The first invoice was 9/13/2016 in the amount of $462.85 and the second invoice has been 8/23/2017 for the amount of $ 75.00 dollars for only labor, just for them to tell me that I need the CARBON SERVICE TREATMENT for the amount of $ 695 plus labor $300 plus tax. so we are looking at a total of $1200 dollars.

When I purchased this car the Dealership manager was the owner of this car so they told me that everything was up to date and that nobody was going to take care of a car better than the dealership manager.

Tiguan S 4 Motion 2.0L Tsi

  • Automatic transmission
  • 33,000 miles

Started driving vehicle. Engine light blinked then EPS light and Engine light came on steady. Car shook with any acceleration whatsoever. Immediately, took to dealership. They diagnosed a bad ignition coil, recommended replacing all 4. The car is less than 4 years old, has less than 34,000 miles on it and has never been in an accident. I'm unsure how an ignition coil just goes bad.
