My brand new 2020 Tiguan purchased in July starting to smell in October as a result of bad moonroof drains that dumped rainwater inside my car. As a result my car smells like mildew. The dealership replaced the carpets and mats but it still smelled. I took it to a premier detailing shop that specializes in water remediation. I am still waiting to be reimbursed by VW for this extreme ozone treatment and interior detailing.

It still smell like mildew and the 20 year detailing veteran has told me that this type of mildew cannot be removed. This is a known problem with the 2020 VW Tiguan, VW knows about it and refused to issue a recall. Instead wasting my time and money (as I still make my monthly payments on this stinky car) with no satisfaction, I would like either my money back or to be put into a new vehicle at not expense to me.
