The contact owns a 2003 Hummer H2. The engine indicator illuminated on the instrument panel and the contact took the vehicle to the repair shop. The mechanic replaced the gas cap. Immediately after the repair, she took the vehicle to the gas station and noticed that fuel was spewing out. It was discovered that the gas elbow and tank were cracked. The repair shop replaced the elbow and gas tank with a stronger metal at the cost of $1,700. The manufacturer stated that the vehicle was out of warranty; therefore, they would not assist. The contact received a call from GMC to conduct a survey. GMC wanted to know if she would purchase another GM vehicle. The failure mileage was 72,000 and current mileage was 78,000.
