QX60 No Trim 3.5L

  • CVT transmission
  • 58,000 miles

Warranty expired two months ago, however the car has not been driven for last 8 months due to COVID. I started driving the car in July 2021 and noticed the car feels like it is going over bumps even though there were none. I came to learn this was called transmission juddering. I took it to Infiniti dealership (Infiniti of Gwinnett in Duluth, GA) to complain about the issue and after paying $170 for diagnosis fee, I was told that transmission has recorded code P17F1 and the CVT transmission require replacement. They also gave me bad news that the warranty expired on June 30, 2021. The car is under 58K mileage and with dying transmission. 2013 and 2014 had the same issue and Nissan issues warranty extension and replacing transmissions. However this was not extended to 2015 which has the same transmission. I called Infiniti Consumer services and they just told me that 5 year warranty expired and they will not do anything about it. This is very unprofessional from Nissan manufacturer side considering that this was known issue for 2014 year model which is exactly same as 2013 and 2014.

QX60 3.5L V6

  • CVT transmission
  • 87,000 miles

It started with a little grinding at low speed, with a slight whine above 20mph. Then the grinding got worse and more frequent, and the whine got louder. Today the shudder came after getting off the highway. I barely made it to Gearhead Garage where I was about to change my oil and inspect the drivetrain. I didn’t want to move if after it was parked, as the jerking and popping wasn’t worth continuing. Seems like the same problem the CVT’s had in the year just prior.

QX60 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 79,000 miles

Auto started stalling, shifting gears, and broke down on me 5 times last week. I was stranded on side of the road with no indication that anything was failing on my vehicle. Kept everything up with my auto and barely used it because I only go back and forth to work. My vehicle has only 79K miles on it and already needs a full transmission replacement. This is a very costly repair and I do not feel like my vehicle is even old or used enough to need this kind of repair. I have seen several complaints regarding transmission failure on the QX60's and Nissan Pathfinders. My mechanic told me to reach out because he believes other were reimbursed because of a class action suit regarding this issue!!

QX60 Premium 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 12,559 miles

I have this wonderful new truck on lease and only a few months into it the transmission has failed. three times on the highway while trying to pass someone, the RPMs went crazy and I had no speed. Had to pull over. shut everything down and wait five minutes. Each time it seemed to reboot itself.

Last weekend this happened while going from a stop position and I was stranded in the middle on an intersection.

I has to push the vehicle, as heavy truck to the other side of the intersection and wait five minutes to reboot.

Luckily no one was impatient and no cars were coming - this could have been very bad.

Dealership says they ran a diagnostic and can't replicate the problem. Come get the vehicle. I'm now arguing with them saying this is not a safe ride and they need to do something more than a diagnostics on it.

Waiting for next steps
