This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Out of nowhere the rear end of the vehicle started making these loud, roaring and humming noises that eventually turned into a grinding noise. First thought the problem was the brakes; inner & outer brakes as well as the rotors were replaced with no changes, noises still continue. After that; all 4 tires were replaced with a full alignment, nothing seemed to help the noises at all. After further research of this problem; it seems there has been an issue with the rear end differential on this make/model vehicle for the last 5 years, that the manufacturer is highly aware of. I'm a mother of small children and my main concern is their safety in this matter; if this problem is allowed to continue, it could end up with the rear wheels locking up. This issue is very serious; better yet, very dangerous and needs further investigation.
