I took my Saab 9-3 to the dealer (mechanic) to check out a rattling noise, and he told him that my coil spring was cracked. He is going to have to replace both. I started searching the web to find out more about the coil spring and came across this web site which has a lot of Saab customers complaining about the same thing "coil spring" I also learned that GM extended their warranty for this part which seems to end for Saab 2006. Mine is a 2007 and has the same problem. Has any heard if GM is also including the later years. It seems 2007 model is also having the same problem. Really...they couldn't extend it one more year :(
